Dr Gunawardane was a Research Fellow of Institute of Genetic Medicine, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA and Research Scientist at Department of Molecular Biology, CASE Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA since 2008 to 2019.
